Distilling: Single Casks 146 & 147 – Looking Back
Today we’re heading down memory lane and looking back to Autumn 2021 and our last Single Cask bottlings.
#146 and #147 were ex-Oloroso casks from Jerez in Spain. Oloroso sherry is packed full of nutty and rich flavours which really sing when matched with our light and fruity single malt spirit and these two were especially tasty casks.
Only available via ballot, due to the very limited number from each cask, over 3000 people entered for fewer than 600 bottles in total.
“Casks 146 and 147 were filled in the autumn of 2016. They were filled within the same hour on the same day and have spent much of their time in our warehouse maturing side by side. We’ve always enjoyed their company, drawing the occasional sample to see their progression and, on rare occasions, to share with friends of the distillery. With each passing year it became very clear how special they are, not just because of their rarity, but their individual characteristics and flavour.”
