Distilling: Looking back at Filey Bay Yorkshire Day 2021

Following on from last week’s post about Filey Bay Yorkshire Day 2020, today we’re looking at Filey Bay Yorkshire Day 2021.

Released on the 1st August (again, no Open Day for this release!) it was eagerly awaited and flew off the virtual shelves. It was a year of lots of video content and so of course, here’s Joe in the warehouse from later in 2021, talking about the differences between the 2020 and 2021 whiskies.

A marriage of whisky matured in ex-Oloroso and ex-Bourbon casks and bottled at 55% abv, it was deep, rich and fruity. In Joe’s own words:

“If you imagine taking a Christmas Cake and breaking it down into it’s ingredients; that’s really what you’re getting in this glass, as well as some lovely baked apple fruity notes that come in towards the end.”

Yorkshire Day 2023 promises another marriage of casks from the warehouse but we can’t say any more than that just yet…
