Distilling: looking back at Filey Bay Yorkshire Day 2020

As we get closer to the release of Filey Bay Yorkshire Day 2023, we thought we’d have a quick look back at the ones that have come before…

It seems strange to think back three years, to this time in 2020 when we were doing Facebook Lives every Wednesday evening and Joe’s kitchen table became a makeshift marrying lab.

Filey Bay Yorkshire Day 2020 was our first ever Special Release, made more special perhaps because we didn’t have the tubes at that point so it was released just as a bottle.

We had to cancel the Open Day that year so it was released via email and online, just as harvest was getting started.

Tasting note: Rich and spicy with flavours of dried fruits, cocoa, honey, hazelnut, caramel and black pepper.

Casks: Pedro Ximenez Sherry and Bourbon (married in STR Red Wine)

Distillate: 57% Column / 43% Pot.

70cl, 55% vol.
