Michelin-starred Pipe and Glass visit the distillery

We joined forces with our sister company Wold Top Brewery, inviting the Pipe and Glass team for a visit. Starting at the farm and the brewery for a tour, before heading down to our whisky distillery for lunch, tasting and tour. We gave an insight into our field-to-bottle production, regenerative farming techniques and our whisky/beer making processes.

Pipe and Glass has featured Filey Bay whisky and Wold Top beer on their menu for many years now, and it was great to see such a passionate team with a mutual love and respect for local produce.

Like ourselves, The Pipe and Glass is a family affair, with James MacKenzie, who is from Filey, running the kitchen and his wife, Kate, in charge of front of house. They took over in 2006, located in South Dalton, near Beverley and have created a warm, comfortable Yorkshire country pub, where customers can drop in for a pint of local ale, tuck into classic ‘pub grub’ dishes or enjoy the highest standards of modern cuisine.

James’ menus represent his signature style of imaginative British cooking, using as much high quality local and seasonal produce as possible and in 2010, the Pipe and Glass was awarded East Yorkshire’s first Michelin Star, an award that they have retained ever since.
