The founder of the Soil Association, she pioneered the thinking and understanding of soil as a living, breathing entity. It’s thinking that now seems obvious but in the early to mid 20th century was ground-breaking. Strengthening soil structure and looking after the land that grows the food we eat (and drink) is imperative and she led the charge on that.
