Bullion Chocolate
Bullion, the Sheffield-based chocolatier, is one of only a handful of UK companies to craft chocolate from bean to bar. This means that they source the cacao beans from independently owned farms, importing them and making the bars from scratch!
These single-origin, small-batch chocolate bars are made with a very hands on approach, right down to the wrapping and packaging.
The Evening
Whisky and chocolate complement and enhance each other’s flavours, so we will be pouring and pairing 5 drams of Filey Bay whisky with 5 different chocolates from Bullion.
There will be a fully stocked bar with the best English wines, Wold Top Beer on tap and of course, coffee and tea! Wold Top Brewery’s ‘Intuition’ will be available in bottles and is a delicious low/no alcohol beer too.
Why Bullion?
Bullion‘s meticulous approach of making chocolate from first principles chimes instinctively with our way of making whisky, from field-to-bottle.
Starting in 2016, and using principles that are rarely seen in the world of chocolate, when we met Bullion chocolate and learnt about their ethos it seemed like an obvious collaboration. Since then, you can regularly see us working together, whether that be in an event at our home or theirs, you can be sure we love the pairing.

sarlouuk2022-09-04A great day out We had a fabulous and very interesting tour of the distillery. The guide was very informative and knew all aspects of the process. During the tasting time the guide was very knowledgeable about what to expect from each of the three samples she provided. Our visit was finished off perfectly by a relaxing and delicious meal in the distillery cafe and a look around the shop. I would highly recommend a visit if you are in North Yorkshire.Eileen L2022-09-04Great way to spend the day First went on the tour. Very knowledgeably guide. I learnt a lot about how whisky was made. Its not very big but it was easy to see and understand. Ended with the tasting, iam not a whisky lover. But the guide told us the best way to taste and I must admit I liked this whisky! We followed the tour with the most delicious afternoon tea. All the staff were very friendly and helpful. I will certainly go again.sueforth2022-08-29Tour and tasting I took my dad for the distillery tour for his birthday and we had a great time, it was very interesting to learn about the process of production. The tasting at the end was very nice too and getting your own glass to keep is a nice touch too!Joanne C2022-08-27Proud to be Yorkshire I wrote a very considered and thought about lovely review as we had a great time on the brewery and distillery tour and I can't speak highly enough of the people, facilities and how enjoyable and interesting each trip was. So thank you. However my review was lost as I then had to log in, couldn't remember my password and after going to the email to reset my password my long and detailed review had disappeared...Come on Trip Advisor...either let people submit the review without having to log in or make them log in first. Your site is not as easy and delightful to visit as the brewery and distillery...and you don't give away great beverage samples or have a fab cafe either!andythenurse2022-08-26The best day out in a very long time. Well today was one of those days where I was feeling definitely not at one with myself and I was on annual leave to boot. My wife then waltzed in and said get your shoes on we’re going out.
So we set off on a “mystery trip”, now I’m not one for mystery trips so we set off and I was in a grumpy mood and was in pain. We turned on to the road to Hunmanby and I was definitely none the wiser. Just before we got there my darling wife asked me to close my eyes.
We arrived on a small but tidy industrial estate and entered the distillery. I was still quite grumpy but my interest was starting to peak as I had never been on a distillery tour before. It was beautifully clean and well presented with a wonderful array of whisky’s for sale. We were signposted upstairs to the start of the tour.
The tour was eye opening and informative, the smells were heavenly, and then the pièce de résistance the tasting of the whisky’s. I had entered single malt heaven. We were given three to sample and were allowed to sample any others from the range on the “try before you buy” basis. So we did and then we did (buy that is).
We then sauntered upstairs again to sample the delights of the café and we weren’t disappointed. We went for the sharing platter which was amply stocked with local cheeses and charcuterie. Oh and the pork pie on the side was to die for, also sourced from a local provider.
We will be going back again for more lovely food and to purchase more of their mighty fine whisky. I’ve also recommended this place to all my friends who the cycling fraternity as a blooming good cafe stop.
Please do to go as you won’t be disappointed.petergH7390BU2022-08-22Outstanding: do not miss the opportunity to visit We did the brilliant distillery tour with our excellent guide Courtney, then had an afternoon tea in the ‘Pot Still’: both parts were absolutely outstanding. FAQs
Everyone over the age of 6 is welcome to join a tour. We cannot allow anyone under the age of 6 into the still house. Therefore they cannot join the tour. This includes babes-in-arms.
The stills are in action on Mondays, Tuesdays, Thursdays and Fridays. However very occasionally, for technical reasons, there will be times when we are not distilling on those days.
We love our furry four legged friends however as we are a working distillery, we can only allow Assistance Dogs into the distillery building. This includes the distillery shop and the Pot Still Coffee Shop.
Our Daily Distillery Tours last 60 minutes (at 11, 1 and 3 everyday). The Distillery Deep Dive is 90 minutes. And our Brewery and Distillery Tours take around 3 hours.
