Distilling: Filey Bay First Release turns Four!
Happy birthday Filey Bay First Release… you’re four!
It’s hard to believe where the time has gone but it’s four years today since we officially launched Filey Bay First Release. We had a queue around the corner at the distillery with half the team there, and the other half of the team pouring samples at the 2019 York Whisky Festival.
Light and fruity, ex-bourbon matured First Release really set the tone for the type of whisky we wanted to be making here in Hunmanby and made waves as Yorkshire’s first ever single malt whisky. It sold out almost immediately, followed in November 2019 by Filey Bay Second Release, and then Filey Bay Moscatel Finish in March 2020 (just as the world shut down).
Filey Bay Flagship (the ex-bourbon matured core bottling that followed on from First and Second Releases) is now available in over 10 different countries…
They grow up so fast!
