Amy and Joe had a slightly different weekend to planned @KendalWhiskyFestival where heavy snow fall sent things a little off-piste on Saturday night! Phil and the festival team did a fantastic job of running a brilliant show despite the conditions, and Joe and Amy were able to safely head back east on Monday.

Last weekend our Whisky Director Joe headed to Switzerland for ‘Whisky and Music Zurich’ with our Swiss Importers Whisky Bibliothek. He had a great time meeting Swiss fans and getting to know the market better... and also found the time to do an impromptu Filey Bay photoshoot around Zurich with a friendly cat! Danke!

Not one but two trips to Whitehall this week for Filey Bay Whisky...

On Tuesday, Dave and Tom headed to the Houses of Parliament for an ‘English Whisky Day in Parliament.’ Hosted by our MP Kevin Hollinrake (and supported by @Whiskyside from Hunmanby), it was organised to showcase the quality of English Whiskies to MPs from across all four nations and parties.

Both Tom and Dave said it was a fantastic afternoon, very loud and very fun, meeting with other distillers and MPs, and pouring a lot of drams. Finishing up, of course, in the bar behind which they left a couple of bottles of Filey Bay!

Dave was back on the coast for a day before he and Jenni headed back to London on Thursday, for a Christmas Street Party on Downing Street. The afternoon started with a roundtable discussion inside no. 10 with the Minister for Business and Trade about the challenges affecting small businesses, which David said was really interesting and a great opportunity to put forward points of view and get some valuable detail about them.

The action then moved outside for a three hour ‘street market’ on Downing Street, pouring whisky for, and chatting to, selected guests from across government, community champions and businesses from around the country too. It was pretty chilly (!) but great to talk to a whole range of people, from college students to the leader of NFU Cymru, as well as a whole range of great businesses from across the country.

Filey Bay Peated Finish Batch #3 is going down a storm at York Christmas Market, particularly with those from north of the border who've come down for the day.

After a first maturation in ex-bourbon casks, this whisky is moved to casks which previously held Peated whisky for a second maturation. During this 'finishing' time, our light and fruity whisky extracts lovely caramel, citrus and peaty notes, that's subtly smokey and a little sweet.
