Distillery Sessions 2023 – Andy Stones
29th April 2023
Back out of ‘retirement’ we’re extremely excited to be welcoming back the wonderful Andy Stones for a Distillery Session in April. Writing and playing on and off for 20 years, he’s picked up varied influences along the way from people such as Paul Simon, John Martyn and Clive Gregson but his style is very much his own. He’ll be playing a mix of covers and his own writing, we can’t wait to be singing along again.
Saturday 29th April 2023.
Doors at 6.15pm, music starts at 7pm.
Home time 9.30pm.
**When booking, please move the month across to April. Then you can click ’29’ and book your tickets. Thank you!**
Hailing from Driffield but with a sound that spans the Atlantic, Andy’s a builder by day and one of East Yorkshire’s favourite singer-songwriters by night. His sets are great fun, with his guitar-slapping, foot-tapping style, and wry sense of humour between songs. A Distillery Sessions regular since they began in 2017, Andy’s gigs always sell out.
Always a great night out, our Distillery Sessions bring the best local music here to Hunmanby, every other month. Choose from a ticket on its own, or enjoy our seasonal set menu (made on site with locally sourced ingredients), we also have Wold Top Beer on tap, a choice of Filey Bay Whiskies, as well as a range of other drinks too.
Distillery Sessions: the last Saturday of every other month (Feb, April, June, August, October, December)
Out and About
Both here and away, near and far, you’ll find a member of the team pouring whisky or hosting a tasting somewhere most weekends. So we set off on a “mystery trip”, now I’m not one for mystery trips so we set off and I was in a grumpy mood and was in pain. We turned on to the road to Hunmanby and I was definitely none the wiser. Just before we got there my darling wife asked me to close my eyes.
We arrived on a small but tidy industrial estate and entered the distillery. I was still quite grumpy but my interest was starting to peak as I had never been on a distillery tour before. It was beautifully clean and well presented with a wonderful array of whisky’s for sale. We were signposted upstairs to the start of the tour.
The tour was eye opening and informative, the smells were heavenly, and then the pièce de résistance the tasting of the whisky’s. I had entered single malt heaven. We were given three to sample and were allowed to sample any others from the range on the “try before you buy” basis. So we did and then we did (buy that is).
We then sauntered upstairs again to sample the delights of the café and we weren’t disappointed. We went for the sharing platter which was amply stocked with local cheeses and charcuterie. Oh and the pork pie on the side was to die for, also sourced from a local provider.
We will be going back again for more lovely food and to purchase more of their mighty fine whisky. I’ve also recommended this place to all my friends who the cycling fraternity as a blooming good cafe stop.
Please do to go as you won’t be disappointed.
Everyone over the age of 6 is welcome to join a tour. We cannot allow anyone under the age of 6 into the still house. Therefore they cannot join the tour. This includes babes-in-arms.
The stills are in action on Mondays, Tuesdays, Thursdays and Fridays. However very occasionally, for technical reasons, there will be times when we are not distilling on those days.
We love our furry four legged friends however as we are a working distillery, we can only allow Assistance Dogs into the distillery building. This includes the distillery shop and the Pot Still Coffee Shop.
Our Daily Distillery Tours last 60 minutes (at 11, 1 and 3 everyday). The Distillery Deep Dive is 90 minutes. And our Brewery and Distillery Tours take around 3 hours.
