We're extremely excited to welcome you back to the distillery for our annual Open Day on Saturday 29th July 2023. We'll be doing things a little differently this year, with bigger and better Masterclasses, pairings, local producers, delicious food and fantastic live music, as well as tours throughout the day and the launch of our summer Special Release, Filey Bay Yorkshire Day 2023. For entry on the day, you'll need an entry ticket which include a tour and a nosing glass as well as all-day access to what's happening around the distillery.

Masterclasses
We've got a host of fantastic Masterclasses lined up this year, sharing some of our very best whisky, and really getting into detail on our production and creation process.
Masterclass One
Around the World
Over the past couple of years, we've worked with our importers around the world on a number of exclusive Filey Bay Single Cask releases. For this hour-long ticketed Masterclass, we'll be trying and talking about a few of these. This Masterclass will be in a separate marquee and tickets must be booked via the below link. There are two times available - 13:00 or 15:00. Places are limited to 25 people for each class.
Masterclass Two
Fresh from the Cask
Freshly pulled samples will be the order of the day for this hour-long ticketed Masterclass. Selected by our Whisky Director Joe Clark, to show the range and depth of what's maturing in our whisky store. And, naturally, they'll all be cask strength. This Masterclass will be in a separate marquee and tickets must be booked via the below link. There are two times available - 14:00 or 16:00. Places are limited to 25 people for each class.
Masterclass Three
Field to Bottle
This 45 minute Masterclass will focus in on the barley we grow ourselves, how we're farming progressively and the impact that has on our whisky and the place we live, complemented by drams of archived Filey Bay Whiskies as we talk. This Masterclass will be on the main stage and will be free to join.
Masterclass Four
Pairing with Principle
For our fourth Masterclass, we'll be joining together with Bullion Chocolate, talking about their bean to bar ethos alongside our field to bottle one, and pairing whisky and chocolate at the same time, in this 45 minute tasting. This Masterclass will be on the main stage and will be free to join.
Special Release
Filey Bay Yorkshire Day 2023
The star of the show... Filey Bay Yorkshire Day 2023, our annual Special Release, will be ready and launching on the day. Exclusive to the distillery and limited to 2 per customer. More information about this whisky coming soon.
the hub
The Marquee
Home to the bar and the stage, the main marquee will be the hub of the day. Full of live music, "conversations with" and possibly a couple of tastings too.
Rolling
Tours
Every thirty minutes, Tours will head around the distillery, showcasing the hows, whys and whats of Spirit of Yorkshire Distillery and Filey Bay Whisky. These are free for everyone (though no under 6s we're afraid).
Local
Producers & Craftspeople
Alongside the Masterclass, local producers will be at the distillery, sharing their stories and offering samples, as well as selling produce & products for you to take home.
Food &
Drink
Embers in Scarborough will be serving wood-fired lunches, accompanied by the Wold Top Brewery van serving a range of beers. The Pot Still Coffee Shop will be open for coffee, tea and cake, and there'll be plenty of whisky to enjoy.
