A great day, full of masterclasses, pairings, local producers, delicious food and fantastic live music, as well as tours throughout the day and the launch of our summer Special Release, Filey Bay Yorkshire Day 2024. Cask Owner Day is our way to say thank you to you for your support of the Distillery and the whisky we're making here.
Cask Sample requests are now closed for 2024.

Entry
The Cask Owner Day invite is for two people per cask. This ensures that the day can stay small and intimate enough to be really special. It means we can pour lots of samples and really give you a great 'behind the scenes' experience! If more than two people connected to your cask would like to attend, additional tickets are available to purchase for a small fee. If you have any questions about this, please give us a call. Online RSVPs are now closed. If you would like to RSVP on Saturday, please call the distillery on 01723 891758.

Cask Samples for 2024 have now been drawn and will be ready for collection at Cask Owner Day, or will be dispatched via DPD from the following week.

Masterclasses
We've got four fantastic Masterclasses lined up this year, sharing some of our very best whisky, and really getting into detail on our production and creation process.
Masterclass One
Directors' Choice
Whisky Director Joe Clark, and Managing Director David Thompson, choose their favourite Filey Bay drams for this masterclass. They'll delve into the detail of each dram, and how, why and what it was released for. This hour long Masterclass will be in a separate marquee and tickets must be booked via the link below.
Masterclass Two
Fresh from the Cask
Freshly pulled samples will be the order of the day for this hour-long ticketed Masterclass. Selected by our Whisky Director Joe Clark, to show the range and depth of what's maturing in our whisky store. Naturally, they'll all be cask strength. This Masterclass will be in a separate marquee and tickets must be booked via the link below.
Masterclass Three
Legacy & Conservation
This 45 minute Masterclass will focus in our impact on our area. Covering sustainability, ethos and why we always aim to act before we talk! This Masterclass will be on the main stage and will be free to join.
Masterclass Four
Made of Yorkshire
For our fourth Masterclass, we'll be joining together with a brilliant local producer who shares our philosophies and approach to production and sustainability, with tasters shared too! This 45 minute Masterclass will be on the main stage and will be free to join.
Important to
Note
Dogs: whilst we love Dogs, this year we'll be operating a no-dogs policy (other than assistance and support dogs) on the distillery site, both inside and outside.
Children: Children are very welcome to our Cask Owner Day and we love inspiring the next generation of farmers, distillers and fans! However we regret that under-6s cannot come on the tour inside the still house. This includes babes-in-arms. If you will be bringing under 18s with you to Cask Owner Day, please RSVP for the adults and drop us an email about the children so we'll know who to expect.

Filey Bay Yorkshire Day 2024
The star of the show... Filey Bay Yorkshire Day 2024, our annual Special Release, will be ready and launching on the day. Exclusive to the distillery and limited to 2 per customer. More information about this whisky coming soon.
the hub
The Marquee
Home to the bar and the stage, the main marquee will be the hub of the day. Full of live music, "conversations with" and possibly a couple of tastings too.
Rolling
Tours
Every thirty minutes, Tours will head around the distillery, showcasing the hows, whys and whats of Spirit of Yorkshire Distillery and Filey Bay Whisky. These are free for everyone (though no under 6s we're afraid).
Local
Producers & Craftspeople
Alongside the Masterclass, local producers will be at the distillery, sharing their stories and offering samples, as well as selling produce & products for you to take home.
Food &
Drink
We'll have lunch for sale on-site and, of course, the Wold Top Brewery van serving a range of beers (including the delicious low alcohol 'Intuition'). The Pot Still Coffee Shop will be open for coffee, tea and cake, and there'll be plenty of whisky to enjoy.
