Sounds delicious right? Right! Max (from Bullion Chocolate) and Joe, our Whisky Director, spent a Friday night in March pairing chocolate with whisky and discussing why they go so well together. Bullion are craft chocolatiers from Sheffield and their ethos echoes our – a meticulous obsession with creating an incredible product, from start to finish.
We’re based right on the coast and we love it. So we were really pleased to welcome Bek Homer to the Distillery to feature on her “Bek by the Sea” show on Radio York. The Tour de Yorkshire will pass through Hunmanby on stage 3 (4th May), as it takes a very circuitous route from Bridlington to Scarborough (definitely not just going straight along the A165!) Maturing Malt Hits the Road. On the 18th of December, our 004 Maturing Malt went on a trip with our Whisky Director to Westminster. The day was hosted at The House of Commons by Welcome to Yorkshire, showcasing some of best food and drink within God’s own county at a Taste of Yorkshire event. Last week we were invited by Welcome to Yorkshire, to join them at an event welcoming the Rugby League International Federation to Yorkshire and York. Joe met a delegation of VIPs from the world of Rugby League, and members of the Welcome to Yorkshire team with Distillery Projects 003 and a selection of Wold Top Beers at the beautiful Mansion House in York. According to Joe – “the Samoans really took to our Maturing Malt and Against the Grain went down very well with everyone!”
