It’s official, Filey Bay, Yorkshire single malt whisky will be available in the United States of America at the start of 2022.
We’re excited to say that our whisky will be distributed across 48 states within the US. It’s a privilege to be working with ImpEx Beverages as our importer. Something that really shines through with ImpEx, is their passion and commitment to the distilleries they are working with. ImpEx Beverages imports Whisky, Gin, Rum, and Mezcal from all over the world, now including Yorkshire!
Very early on Thursday morning (the 9th December), Managing Director David and Marketing Director Jenni went ‘live’ on YouTube and Facebook with ImpEx for their ‘Drinks with…’ World Whisky edition. In the conversation with Joshua Hatton, National Sales Director from ImpEx, David and Jenni were joined by Stephen Davies, Laura Davies and Aista Phillips from Penderyn Distillery in Wales; Gal Kalkshtein from Milk & Honey Distillery in Israel; and Chris Uhde on behalf of Ohishi, Fukano and Matsui Distilleries in Japan.

Throughout the conversation, Joshua asked some really great questions to the guests about a range of topics, from tradition and innovation, right through to climate and terroir. Each distillery answered these questions differently, yet there were some interesting similarities. Penderyn, M&H Distillery and us were all mentored by Dr Jim Swan and all three distilleries, as well as ImpEx talked about how inspirational he was, and how his teaching style has shaped us immeasurably. The topic that seemed to particularly spark interest was terroir, and how the land (and its climate) shape the whisky overall, rather than specifically about taste.
It was a fascinating discussion and the time flew by. We’re really excited to be working closely with the team at ImpEx and can’t wait to bring a taste of Yorkshire to New York and beyond…
